Important Warnings
- Do not ignore court papers if you receive them. Get legal advice immediately.
- A Section 21 notice is a "no-fault" eviction, meaning the landlord does not need a reason to evict you.
- The notice must give you at least 2 months to leave.
- The landlord cannot use Section 21 if they haven't protected your deposit or given you a gas safety certificate.
- You do not have to leave on the date in the notice. The landlord must go to court to get a possession order.
- If the notice is invalid, the court will throw it out.
