Cookies & device storage

This page describes browser storage used by Housing Support Navigator. Some of the items below are local-storage entries rather than cookies; the previous notice incorrectly described them all as cookies.

What we use

NameType and purposeTypical lifetime
floot_built_app_sessionSecure, HttpOnly authentication cookie used when you sign in.Session-controlled; the server validates token expiry.
housing_storage_notice_seenLocal storage used only to remember that you closed the storage notice.Until browser storage is cleared.
housing_service_notice_acknowledgedLocal storage used to remember the service-boundary acknowledgement before the questionnaire.Until browser storage is cleared.
floot_q_session_*Local storage holding the questionnaire session identifier used to resume saved progress.Until the journey is completed/restarted or browser storage is cleared.
housing_user_journeyLocal storage for journey state and personalisation signals on the device.Until the journey is cleared or browser storage is cleared.

Visitor analytics

Floot's built-in visitor analytics is configured to memory-only mode for this application. The analytics session identifier is therefore kept in memory rather than written to persistent browser storage; reloading or opening a new tab starts a new session.

Your controls

Browser settings can clear cookies and local storage. Clearing authentication or journey storage may sign you out or prevent the service from resuming local progress. You can also use the service's own journey-reset controls where available.
